Top of the range portable colour tri-mode unit (aviation/land/marine)

This unit will impress you. Terrain alert, built in (changeable) battery, information overlay screen (like HUD), electronic log book, voice road directions (with opt speaker/power connector)  - the list of features goes on. USB interface. Same casing size as the 196 - but that's where the similarity ends.

Includes a package of goodies like yoke mount, cables, even a GARMIN bag

This is the replacement range for the known and trusted III Pilot.

Tri-mode unit (aviation/land/marine)

Built in memory for road or marine maps. Aviation Jepp database built in.

2 AA (penlight batteries) gives 25 hours on the mono unit and 40 hours on the colour unit (that's right, the colour unit uses less power - weird huh!)

Uses new USB interface or old serial connection. Comes with trip and waypoint manager, 12v cable, USB cable, yoke mount etc

TRANSPONDER

The GTX 330/330D are Mode S, IFR-certified transponders with datalink capability, including local traffic updates and expandability to accommodate potential future services such as ADS-B

The GTX 330D contains all of the features of the GTX 330, and adds antenna diversity for improved visibility to TCAS-equipped aircraft flying above you.

Please note: The GTX 330 and GTX 330D both meet the requirements of Level 2 Mode-S to satisfy the upcoming European Mode-S mandate for Elementary Surveillance.

FAA Traffic information Services (TIS) on the GNS 430

The GNS430 is an IFR certified GPS, 2280 channel capaity comm and 200 channel ILS/VOR with localizer with a four inch colour screen.

The basemap shows airports, cities, highways, railroads, rivers, lakes and coastlines.

A flip-flop button lets you easily switch between active and standby radio frequencies which are nominated automatically by the GNS430 based on the waypoint.

GDL 49 Satellite Data Link

Garmin is now able to provide flight-critical weather data to its 400 and 500 series panel mounts through the new GDL 49 Satellite Data Link Transceiver. Pilots who install the GDL 49 and subscribe to Echo Flight's weather Data Link service can have instant access to NEXRAD weather data, and METARS.
