We are pleased to announce the launch of a new map product for use with Garmin map enabled GPS systems.

Garmap covers the following towns and cities to residential street level.

BLOEMFONTEIN

DURBAN

CAPE TOWN

EAST LONDON

JOHANNESBURG – Witwatersrand (Including West, South, East and North rand)

NELSPRUIT

POLOKWANE (PIETERSBURG)

PORT ELIZABETH

PRETORIA

VAAL TRIANGLE (Including Vereeniging, Vanderbijl, Sasolburg etc.)

WHITE RIVER

The base map covers the Regional Road network of South Africa and is far more accurate than the existing base maps found on Garmin units. 

 WHAT GPS UNITS DOES GARMAP WORK ON

The Garmap works on all Garmin map enabled GPS systems, some with limitations

Some GPS units have the ability to search for street names or addresses, others have the capability to automatically route you to this address. The mapping software does not support these functions even though they are available on the GPS.

Garmap will be packaged with all Garmin map enabled GPS current model, except for the Streetpilot III, GPS V and the Navtalk (this unit is not yet launched).

This will add an amount (around R1000 (inc VAT)) to the retail price of any of these units.

Garmap will also be sold as a stand alone item for those who have already purchased a GPS, the price stand alone will also be around R1000 (inc VAT)

On the outer packaging the client will find a product registration number. He will need to follow a simple registration procedure on the Internet to enable him to upload the mapping data to his GPS.

Garmap allows you to upload and download route, waypoint and tracklog data as well as real time positioning on your PC display. You will only be able to use it as a PC software kit, you will not be able to upload maps to a non-map enabled GPS.

Please note that the data on the Garmap CD is licensed to a third party and any person copying this CD may face prosecution by the owner of the licensed mapping data.
