As a general indication, units without a moving map facility start around R1000. A reasonable moving map unit will be around R4000. Thereafter features like colour, size, memory, street level auto routing and memory can push the price well over R10 000. South African MAP software starts around R1000 but is already supplied and incorporated within the unit pricing except in a few circumstances (Eg. Garmin 196).
